Deploy with Kern Cloud

Before you start

Once your account has alpha access, sign in to Kern Cloud. It provisions a dedicated EC2 host and a personal Cloudflare URL; AI inference remains connected to your chosen provider.

• Choose a 2–32 character host name that starts with a lowercase letter, contains only lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens, and ends with a letter or number.
• Optionally prepare an SSH public key if you want terminal access.
• Keep the generated admin password in a password manager.

Create the host

   Choose the host name

   The console previews the personal Cloudflare URL derived from this name.

   Choose operator access

   Leave SSH off for browser-only operation, or provide an Ed25519/RSA public key.

   Deploy

   Provisioning usually takes about five minutes and may take up to fifteen. The status page refreshes automatically.

   Open Kern

   When the host is live, reveal the admin password, open the personal URL, and sign in.

From deployment to a useful first run

   Deploy with Kern Cloud

   Create the dedicated host, wait for it to become live, then open Kern and sign in.

   Connect an agent

   Open Home → Integrations and connect the runtime you use.

   Enable only the access you need

   Connect tools and network integrations for the task. Kern denies everything else.

   Give the agent a real outcome

   Start a Chat with a bounded task, such as researching a question or improving a repository.

   Inspect the boundary

   Review Network audit and Tool audit to see what was allowed, denied, or held for approval.
